Re: Installation & Wiring Questions
How many cars have you wired exactly? That depends on what you mean, if you include the electric vehicles, that are all electronic, it's only 4. If you include the ones petro/hybrid it's only 10. If you include modified normal car modifications it's around 40 to 50. I don't see how that make impeda...

I'm curious why did you choose the MSP430?

Re: Installation & Wiring Questions
The silicone coatings are good. Largely because they have good UV and long term out gassing characteristics. So I would recommend them if you can get them. The others like PVF2 will out gas the plastic over time, often becoming brittle after a couple years, cracking, ect. They are often designed for...

Re: Our Turbo Pugeot 205 Hill Climb Project
For anyone whos interested as to what it was that did'nt work with the optical set up well after a little bit of head scratching and a bit of time on the scope,it was the width of the blades on my choper wheel. It sounds like you found the pulses where becoming rounded or flat lining when you appro...

Re: PCB layout for Cinch ModICE enclosure
Ah, appears the link broke, sorry about that, I just updated those pictures in a couple posts back. The issue was that the spring plates appeared to be on the wrong sides. I was trying to show the plates in the pictures. One tries to show the two notches in the top pressing against the top of the en...

Re: My core board & I/O board design, need your comments
But the puma.sch was not as elegant as the puma.brd, too many hierarchical sheet box all around, most of them contain only a few resistors and a couple of wires occupied the whole A4 paper. It is unacceptable when I need to print on real A4 pager. That's largely my fault. PUMA was based on DFH, whe...

Re: My core board & I/O board design, need your comments
I like your solution by adding a shottky in series with the LED, space is not a concern. My friend also points out this issue and said doing so will make LED explode, but he suggests to wire a transistor on I/O pin and drive the LED. which one is better? I'm not seeing how they might explode, perha...

Re: My core board & I/O board design, need your comments
Cool, and I agree you've done a good job. I like those VB325SP chips. I would like to raise some caution about the LED's on inductive loads. The 70V you'll see when an inductive load is switched off, will create about a 55V reverse potential on the LED. Most LED's will conduct in the revers with aro...

Re: DI and Diesel injector circuits (for DI use only)
Cool, good article. Jon had pointed me to that Driven article before, but I hadn't seen the crypton article. Good to know there are three different GDI technologies out there. My above simulations only really accounted for one, but with a slightly better design, I think all three could be accounted ...

Re: My core board & I/O board design, need your comments
So I think GPL license is fit, is that right? It sounds like any open licence will work for you, as you appear to be looking for the basics that allow people to participate and contribute to your project. GPL can work, but you already have the hardware version of GPL in the licence folder, so I'd r...
