Re: BMW M50 Vanos Timing Angle in MS2Ex2.0.1 Seriously need help
:lol2: I know these loud scary backfires you talk about that result from way wrong trigger angle. (funny story with the kid there) I think i've used 320degrees for the #1 trigger (or whatever it's called, it's been awhile) running ms2extra on my US S50 (essentially bored, stroked and cammed M50, not ...

Got one of those hammond ones here are some spy shots, if anyone's curious: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64/ababkin/projects/enclosures/hammond/IMG_0316.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64/ababkin/projects/enclosures/hammond/IMG_0317.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64/ababkin/project...

Re: Configurable polarity of I/O
How about just using a tri-state buffer since we need a buffer anyway, to take care of undesirable/indeterminate bootloader/reset state potentials. Hold outputs in the 3rd-state (puts all outputs in high-imp) by pulling the appropriate buffer pin, until the MCU is out of bootloader , then overwrite ...

Re: Configurable polarity of I/O
can someone please elaborate on the following - inversion driver - reverse-polarity input diode and what good would it do for the problem at hand? Also, Fred, did you miss my earlier post? Still waiting for reply. EDIT: i've decided to move my proposed solution to this problem here: http://www.diyef...

Re: FPGA project?
toalan: What ghetto analyzer you have? i haven't seen a free one for 3E jharvey: I think the time-critical part of EMS is the perfect field for programmable logic. Usually there is just not enough high res counters in regular uC's to cover many cylinders (barring the software ISR's with their indete...

Re: FPGA project?
No automotive projects i've seen
what board did you get? There is a free logic analyzer project for one of the digilent boards (spartan 3 , not 3e though)

Re: Configurable polarity of I/O
^^ seems correct. You've described one possible scenario in regards to polarity. I am guessing, the whole discussion is about how to make freeEMS suit needs of people with different polarity options of their power circuits. A simple and flexible solution is jumpers and checkboxes, but it is not fool...

Re: Configurable polarity of I/O
Ok, good, let's try again then is this what you are trying to say? : Two possible cases that depend on particular user's setup (types of high current drivers for inj and ign): case 1: MCU pin = 0 causes: output energize, aka saturate, aka pass current OR MCU pin = 1 causes: output to close shut, aka...

Re: Configurable polarity of I/O
Is it just me or the above post is incomprehensible?
how can logic level 0 make it squirt and not squirt at the same time? unless there are plans to use quantum computer for EMS
does anyone else understand what Fred is trying to say?
