Re: Injector Control Options
A MOSFET's like VNP20N07 noted in the beginning of this thread has an Rds of .05 ohms, and only dissipates .05W via resistance. The VNP5N07 has an Rds of .2 ohms, and dissipates .2 watts via resistance heating. Those are fractions of the .4 watts being dissipated via 70V OVP period. Heating via Rds ...

Re: Injector Control Options
[edit] This is outdated, see below post for updated simulation there is an error in this picture and the results are inacurate!!!! [/edit] There has been some discussion about the 70V OVP MOSFET's vs the 40V variety, and which is better. I did some simulations and here are the results. The 40V, appe...

Re: DFH - Defacto FreeEMS Hardware in KICAD
Here's DFH for FreeEMS A.21 P.01 for review https://github.com/jharvey/DFH_FreeEMS_1.0_hardware For those with out KICAD, I've released a full PDF with the PCB layout. That can be found at these links. Schematic PDF https://github.com/jharvey/DFH_FreeEMS_1.0_hardware/blob/master/SCH_DFH_A.21_P01.pdf...

Re: DFH - Defacto FreeEMS Hardware in KICAD
Some people have expressed interest in DFH. There are many items that should be addressed, which shouldn't take me long to do. Perhaps an hour to two. So I figured it would be shame if I didn't spend such a small amount of time to make it so much easier for other interested persons. So far I removed...

Congrats congrats. I'll eagerly await the video.
Hey, why can I post here? Fred can you move to the comments thread please.

S12X ADC
This is migrated from here. http://forum.diyefi.org/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=1294&start=20 Ah, so your interpretation of Table A-14's "Total input capacitance" is that's it's the ADC capacitance, not the total input the ADC can handle. Such that the pin has 10pF and the sample and hold...

Re: Preston's Element 14 BOM Attempt
Page 1253 Section A2, specifically Table A-14. ATD Electrical Characteristics, "Max input source resistance" = 1k The real page of interest is page 161, which shows it's using one ADC with a sample and hold muxed across 8 inputs. So apparently this is like using a VW bus as a commercial b...

Re: Preston's Element 14 BOM Attempt
Use VNP28N04 for all MOSFET's, as it has a lower Rds, handle all current loads, and limits to 40V such that LED's and such are smacked less. Higher V limit = faster close. 5 amps is enough for a single injector, 14 is excessive, but fine. and 0.5ohm is sufficiently low to not pose any issues, let a...

Re: Preston's Element 14 BOM Attempt
You need to check the datasheet and/or listen to what I'm saying. I see several data sheet's and app notes that don't seem to include that info. Can you reference a specific data sheep, perhaps even a page please. I found this app note, where they use several 10K's in series to an ADC to identify w...
