Re: Reasons To Cut Injection/Ignition With Hysteresis
What about wall wetting contribution? When you do a fuel cut, shouldn't you perform some sort of enrichment when resuming injection similar to an acceleration enrichment and for the same reason? Also, are you sure that you have an issue if you go really lean? A combustion lean of peak will be colder...

Re: New wideband controller ALM beats Innovate LM-2
That's an interesting result. It would be good to see other controllers but I understand that it may not be practical (or economical) to do so. One thing that I don't see for your product is the possibility of chaining multiple units on the same communication port (RS232 in your case). That makes ru...

3.3V out of one of the LDO regulators might be interesting for an SD card.

Re: Fred's firmware development diary comments thread
I understand that and it was obvious that this was to have the finest resolution in a 16-bit variable. I can see the use in doing computation using the finest resolution possible to minimize any computation errors but my question is more related to how you use this value. Are you going to try to sch...

Re: Fred's firmware development diary comments thread
What's the point in going with 0.02 degree of timing resolution? What are the actual requirements for this? And I'm not being facetious but I simply don't see the point unless you're thinking of doing direct injection and even then I'd be interested in seeing actual requirements.

Re: Puma board for FreeEMS
Inj circuits are in standby, you can see TO220 were replaced by D²PAK, and DIP8s went to the bottom side. I did the pre-layout for only 2 of 8, just in case I'm not satisfied with the testing. For p&h drivers with the LM1949 controlling the transistors in linear mode? With up to 10W per driver?...

Re: Special Requirements For Timing/Output Event Scheduling
Ignoring all of the other irrelevant-at-this-stage-shit above, if the answers to those three questions, or any of the foundations of them, are in any way flawed, point it out. Note, number of bits and tuning interface and so on and so forth is NOT being discussed at this point. Just the raw require...

Re: RFC: Switching mode power supply schematics
What's the ripple? Theres a design with spice noted in the simulation directory of PUMA. The problem with using the switch mode supply directly was that the ripple of 1mV is 1 bit of the ADC, so it would induce noise on the ADC. So what Marcos is doing, is setting it to something like 6V using the ...

Re: Puma board for FreeEMS
Fred, Please move this and other posts in a more appropriate section if you think there is a need for it. I would start a new thread but there might be a need to move other posts to it which I can't do. It's a bad idea to spend time and effort modifying the bootloader because if you do, it might be ...
