Re: Special Requirements For Timing/Output Event Scheduling

It's a shame that we didn't get the opportunity to have a wine when I was last in your corner of that continent. If you knew me, you'd not be suggesting such things at all. Maybe but I have only your posts to go by and they don't shows that for me and for others. So if that's something that bothers...

Re: Puma board for FreeEMS

We aren't modifying the bootloader because if we do, we're not compatible with the TA card anymore, and people who don't want or need SMD setups are fucked. And that is totally unacceptable to me, and to many others too. That's why, and it's not much of a restriction, really. You'd still have to do...

Re: Special Requirements For Timing/Output Event Scheduling

Being a little bit less tired today, I'll add some questions here you should be able to answer easily since you already made your decision. How many variables/parameters are going too be in the engine timing domain? Do they all have their own range and precision? Do you have to related them to the a...

Re: Special Requirements For Timing/Output Event Scheduling

Don't make it look as if it is some sort of conspiracy. I just don't agree with you on many points (not just those mentioned here) and I don't like how you're acting more and more like you know everything and better than anyone else. And that your view (and bias, which we all have) is the only valid...

Re: Special Requirements For Timing/Output Event Scheduling

First, I don't think I need a lesson in software development. Second, I don't have a real stake in this so you can (and will likely) do what you want. Third, my only real requirement is future-proofing for what you can't foresee now and using 8 bits for timing information makes me uneasy (but that c...

Re: Special Requirements For Timing/Output Event Scheduling

And if you start with some resolution and you change something on your engine and you need a bigger range then you're screwed (not really but it's pain). Not if you do it well. With AEM if you need more resolution it's a simple matter of rescaling the table which gives more resolution, and matches ...

Re: Special Requirements For Timing/Output Event Scheduling

However, you could do like AEM does and have the resolution adjustable based on breadth of values. Have a small breadth of values? You can get tons of resolution. Have a wide breadth? You get less resolution. A band-aid for sure. =/ And if you start with some resolution and you change something on ...

Re: Special Requirements For Timing/Output Event Scheduling

Jean, due to a lack of reply, I took some dev time out and did some reading (not the most productive use of my time, really, but...). I found this link from your site: http://www.starchak.ca/efi/siamese.htm And from reading it, and looking at this image: http://stuff.fredcooke.com/siameseInjection....

Re: Reserving pins for future use

I wonder though, would it be possible though to executable code uploaded onto the memory without having to reflash the firmware? It'd have long-term benefits if it was. That's kind of what the bootloader does. But that requires self-sufficient code at a fixed address, a dedicated block of flash and...

Re: Special Requirements For Timing/Output Event Scheduling

Limiting the injection timing to anything but the full 720 degrees does not make any sense. With the same trigger pattern, and therefore I assume the same reference angle, you can have vastly different engine configurations (intake manifold geometry, injector placement,...) that will require complet...
