Re: 2008 Yamaha R6 Race bike

I think they were 4 + sync when they were carbureted(as pictured in a 1999 repair manual) and then their first gen injection like my R1 went to 8 + sync(as you can see from my decoder setup). I know most late model bikes got 32-bit CPUs. Odd-fire as in the crank throws are not all 90-deg apart from ...

Re: 2008 Yamaha R6 Race bike

Hey Dave, I was speaking of bike engines in general, not so much the wiring. Most have staged injection and electronic secondary throttle bodies, electronic throttle bodies in the exhaust etc. IIRC the R1 went to an odd-fire in 08, unsure if the R6 went the same way. I think all they did with the cr...

"I think one of the most interesting things that I got from talking with Sean about the reason for needing XGate was some reasons for choosing the Freescale MC9S12XDP512" Sounds like I misspoke a bit, at the time of choosing it was more or less over looked as a nice ace in the hole IF it ...

Re: Sean's R1 Powered Desert Rail (17th)

Thanks :) I started off tuning OEM ECUs some 10 years ago and that progressed into standalone systems, primarily MoTec and then megasquirt. It was around the time I got into megasquirt, when I organized my efforts into what I named PowerEFI. To sum it up, it's a small business I started some 6 years...

Re: Sean's R1 Powered Desert Rail (17th)

The change was not the injectors, it was 7500 feet in elevation. I NEED to change one of the sets though. Maybe you can help me scout around? They are the skinny nippon-denso type. I currently have an orange set and a dark blue set. The *orange set is the primary and it's also the set it idles on. I...

Re: Sean's R1 Powered Desert Rail (17th)

Some test and tuning. The engine tune seems to be pretty much dialed in, it didn't require any changes to the MAF table. Both injector sets are reading too high a duty-cycle for my liking, such is E85 I guess haha.

I clearly need to revalve the shocks, esp the rebound.

"1) Jewish tin-arse tight-arse clam-wallet squeaky-arse clenchfistedness :-) Sorry, ran out of adjectives. "

Does living with this count as an adjective?

1)Dislike of non-sequential running. 2) Dislike of temporary DIY hardware. 3) Desire to prove self/xg bb code. 4) Desire to not spend on fuel. #1, true but that's besides the fact. I'm 100% OK with running semi-seq and when testing is needed, I can swap it back to fully sequential later. In other w...

Awesome. I'm not sure if much can be done about having to build the old 3.x.x gcc with warnings not flagged as errors though, outside of heavy lifting anyway.
