Re: Fred's firmware development diary comments thread

Sean, it's just you now, all other variants are tested OK. Then I'll consider that code adequately tested for general consumption and migrate it to the master branch. There's currently far too big of a gap between them... that's got to change! Ball is your court, my friend! I feel a need to "s...

Re: Simple Transient Enrichment Brainstorming

baited lol I would have said "corrected" :) "MAF is laggy as hell and near useless for this, too." I had to give you a little bit of shizzle, that statement was a bit too prejudice for me to brush off hehe. I did a fair amount of research to make sure I would get *good response,...

Re: Seeing Is Believing (FreeEMS Show-casing)

A simple spec sheet can flex the firmware muscle for people who are not able to look at the code themselves. Typically a smart ECU shopper will look at the specs to see if it will cut *their mustard. If multiple products will make the cut then it comes down to other factors cost/bells&whistles e...

Re: Fred's firmware development diary comments thread

Let me rephrase, droping the clutch enough to come close to stalling the engine, but not hard enough to burn rubber.

Re: Fred's firmware development diary comments thread

Even with OEM ECUs, I have noticed that if you come off the clutch way too fast you can hear the engine knock a few times, likely to the decel effect you described.

Re: Simple Transient Enrichment Brainstorming

You can probably gauge the weight of the TPS movement by the reading the MAP sensor at the time of change. IE the lower the pressure the more change in airflow you can expect from X % of TPS movement.

Re: Simple Transient Enrichment Brainstorming

"You certainly *do* care about what changed!" Some algorithms don't. In my experience the most responsive ones seem to be TPS based though. Typically TPS is in the front of the chain of events so it makes sense. "MAF is laggy as hell and near useless for this, too." "Even MA...
