Re: Reasons For Lambda Table Naming
FWIW the MS2extra code allows the user to select whether the AFR table is integral or just a target. I find it works way better when it is integral. Changing your AFR is a matter of changing the table entries rather than changing the entries and having to re-tune the map. +1 on the "integral&qu...

Re: Powerpoint Presentation on aircraft FADEC design
The description makes it sound like a WOT switch, which was mainstream ECU tech 20 years ago. Aircraft tend to run under more constant load than an automobile, so it doesn't make sense to have a WOT switch. All a WOT switch was used for was deciding when to ignore the O2 sensor and go to an enriched...

Re: Powerpoint Presentation on aircraft FADEC design
Yeah, they tend to treat FADEC on piston aircraft engines as if it's some magical new technology

An excellent F1 video from the 80s
Found these vids posted on the VWvortex. Follows the development of an F1 engine from ground up in the 1980s. Of special note is the engine management system, which is thoroughly covered. Watching these guys work on the electronics reminds me a lot of fighting with MegaSquirt on various cars :) Leng...
