Re: Thermo couple input conditioning
If we sample that directly, the output voltage will be from about 0V at 0C and about 10V at 1000C. I believe the ADC can only handle about 5Vmax, so we would need to scale that temp range down with a resistor divider or something similar. What's the resolution of the ADC? 10 bit better worse? I'm i...

Re: Knock sensing ideas and circuit designs
I wonder is it feasible to have that come directly from the brain? That's no problem on 5554. The thing about a knock window is that you really don't want to even be listening at anyother time because the only thing you will be hearing is noise. What signal comes out of a knock sensor? On 5554 I'd ...

Re: Knock sensing ideas and circuit designs
The 5554 function set has a "knock window" where the crank position where knock is expected is specified. The fact that this is a standard function makes me believe it is standard practice to use a knock window approach. This would mean the the knock sensing circuit would want a timing sig...

Re: Thermo couple input conditioning
On the 5554 I/O doc I listed “K type, 41microV/dC†– these are common, cheap and work from -200C to 1350C I will add a range of 0-1000C to the spec, 600C-700C should be about normal. I don’t know what is being considered for FreeEMS. Exhaust temp gets measured for a couple reasons. The turbo...

Re: How To Install Python, Libs and FreeEMS-Tuner
Yeah it's hanging for me - they must be having some issues... Keep trying - you shouldn't need to sign up. I think this is one more reason why I should host the git repo / releases myself. The other day I registered openecu.info and signed up for 150G of server space. You could put it there. My tho...

The first time it made me register, now it does nothing at all. When I registered it said entering a ssl was optional so I didn't.....maybe they ...

Re: Project Naming
Jared, I think you have got the wrong idea. It's not the name so much, as the "brand". It's like having two versions of Firefox, both browsers, but each designed for different hardware and with unique code bases. Why call them both Firefox? And that is exactly what they do... http://www.m...

Re: Project Naming
I don't have time to argue the naming stuff, however the nod to me part is not required as I just resurrected what once existed and what mega$quirt took away from us gradually over the years. More later. please don't take what I said as arguing, the prefix part FreeEMS, or OpenECU, or DiYEFI,or Bob...
