Re: Unsupported engine platforms (what is there?)

The Subaru 6/7 tooth arrangement wasn't supported at all but I think there is working code now. But it's an unusual tooth pattern but a rather popular platform for modification on all continents...

Oh, and I have one so naturally

:P

But the golfballs dimples only help it because it's round.

When you have a teardrop shape, such as most of the surfaces of an airplane, the dimples do nothing.

Re: Fixed point mathematics

What I'm actually saying is that I have no idea whatsoever. My thought on that was in order to use the full 8bit width, why not prescale on the front end... I'm probably confusing myself on the math. But lets say, I'm running an N/A Car, which I know won't ever reach 100% VE, but for the sake of thi...

Re: Fixed point mathematics

When you say 127.5 instead of 256, do you mean that you're running 8 bit, but for the front end looking at half point VE adjustments? Just to bring the resolution up without forcing users to use arbitrary VE numbers to attain the resolution from 8 bits?

If so, I rather like the idea...

As far as aircraft go, generally I think they go for the "if one of everything is reasonably reliable, two of everything MUST be foolproof"

So two of everything that can fail!

Re: Best Linux kernel ever! 2.6.24-1 debian patched

When I bought my XPS M1330, one of the selling points was that it was that it was availible pre-loaded with Linux and that Windows XP drivers were built for it still. Nothing pains me more than hardware that doesn't work seamlessly with whatever I throw at it. But Alas I'm still on the default Vista...

Re: Serial protocol pre-design discussion - give us your input!

Pardon me for being a moron. When I'm thinking Serial protocol I think of two things. One: I want data integrity for all writes to the hardware. Two: I want an easy way to get data out of the hardware for add-on modules. Perhaps there will be a couple outputs dedicated to just a steaming output of e...

Re: Reasonable to force users to run both MAT AND IAT always?

Well, are we really at risk of running out of ADCs? I'm guessing we have a ton of general purpose I/O availible though, right? If ADCs are the concern, what about using a single ADC and a normal I/O to trigger a solid state relay (unsure of switching time or switching cycle lifetime so take this wit...
