Why not just go with AmpSeals? Theyre proven in EMS uses, weather sealed, seem pretty tough, can be had in through hole, and IMHO arent that expensive. $16 for a 35 pin one. Allegro Micro has some current sense ICs too

They also have great hall sensors for crank/cam applications, stepper motor drivers, etc. All high temp rated.

have to say though, the BMW is the odd one out for this. Most auto ECUs don't have the ignition drivers in the brain. Most have them in the engine bay away from the brain. I'm not aware of any other cars that are like that. BMW is also a bit different because it puts the brain in the engine bay too...

It looks like you have to go through the download process a two or three times on github, the first two times I tried it said page does not exist, then I tried a third time and it worked. Just an FYI.

It took draining my DieHard and a lot of scoping... But I think I finally caught the cause of it. At least I hope its the cause...
