Re: Potential analog reference voltage issue

Very appreciated input, slacker :D I'm biased by some prior experience with rf amplifiers, when the errors of the first stages are the most relevant, and I see vref as the first stage of the whole thing. However, I see your point, and I don't have more than a gut feel to argue about it. So, changing...

Re: Potential analog reference voltage issue

No, this topic is about the ADC voltage reference, and from which regulator it is taken. The SMPS is there to aid another totally diferent problem, its an addition to the actual 2 reg setup, and I like how it behaves. What stays as it is is, is the reference configuration. It was -and probably will-...

Re: Potential analog reference voltage issue

Jared was right. The regulators stays as they are now unless a better idea comes up.

Re: FreeBOMBS

I could do a separate script, which would reside in the freeems-puma-spin1.bombs repository and would update parts from octopart. It's however nothing I'll include in the main freebombs repository, because a feature like that is entirely optional and would only make the app less generic and more co...

Re: FreeBOMBS

And if FreeBOMBS already does this kind of online search, sorry, didn't see it :-/

Re: FreeBOMBS

About he BOM thing. Jammi, did you know about the .lst file? I populated the schematic symbols with properties, I seem to recall most parts either have (or can have) properties for SMT vendors, and DFH allows for 2 sources of SMT and Thru hole vendors. Then when KICAD generates the .lst file, it ca...

Re: Potential analog reference voltage issue

Yes, the regulator is the best I could find, so its certainly a good regulation. Its not better than the small reg, though :-)

Well, so it stays as is.

Re: RFC: Switching mode power supply schematics

Oh, I missed this one. Cool, cool. I see the board proto includes the hybrid USB footprint. I'm curious, have you had a chance to check if it's close to right? I have the USB connectors, and I checked them against the printouts but couldn't check them against the physical holes. The thing with the f...

Re: Potential analog reference voltage issue

This is interesting, back in that time the decision (my decision probably) to use that setup was to have a better reference. The MCU regulator has less current requirements, so its better sustaining a stable 5.0v than the big regulator, which can draw 1Amp or more, and is more subject to temperature ...

Re: FreeBOMBS

Okay, recap. I have to add more component information and possible replacement to the database of an app stored on a git repository to complete the information that is not in the original BOM. Please tell me that you import that information directly from a spreadsheet. At first sight, it seems an ut...
