Re: Ion sensing and peak pressure position estimation
I would like to bump this thread to see if Wiglaf or anyone else have some fresh ideas, in particular about the high-voltage hardware part of it. here are some ideas i've came up with my limited knowledge of coils/transformers/high-voltage stuff: - i have a coil-on-plug (COP) setup on my car, which ...

ok, and what about "this hardware is not to be used as a part of the bigger non-B&G design" ?Fred wrote:Linux on PS2, XBOX, different firmware on your DSL router, etc, there is nothing any of them can do to stop you, it is your physical property to use as you wish.

Re: Another MS2 clone AND JAW clone :-(
No, they can't do that at all. They sell a chunk of fibreglass and some silicon wafer. You can use it to run their code, prop up your house, stir you tomato soup, lubricate your tyres during a burnout, or run my code. It is as much their business as it is AsusTek's that I run Linux on my laptop, IE...

Re: Another MS2 clone AND JAW clone :-(
^^ wholeheartedly agree on this ...but, what prevents them from changing the license to their HW? Something along the lines of "this hardware is not to be used as a part of the bigger non-B&G design" or "no other firmware other than B&G-approved, may be ran on wholly or partia...

Re: Another MS2 clone AND JAW clone :-(
i think Bruce (was it?) was already quoted here: something along the lines of "Our lawyers are better than yours" - that should pretty much summarize their stand.: i.e they will sue if they can (or at least, if it makes sense financially)8InchesFlacid wrote:I wonder what B&G's stand on it is?

Re: distributed computing?
ok, let's try to analyze and discuss those two in depth some questions that would determine the criteria for this comparison: - what is the XDP's hw reaction time to external interrupts (crank/cam teeth) and is it significant (i.e can it affect event scheduling to a point of degraded operation of th...

Re: distributed computing?
Interesting discussion Fred promotes the KISS approach, and rightfully so - reduce costs, complexity, delays and potentially higher failure risk that's present in distributed systems compared to that of centralized. But, as i mentioned in one of the recent threads, modularizing the 'tach wheel decod...

Re: Ghetto sequential injection for 99/00 Miatas
Thanks for the honest critique. I knew it wasn't ideal but I'm looking for something to help smooth my idle. I'd also eventually like to go to stagged injection with an ITB/FI setup I'm working on. That will drop me down to only one injection driver and that would kill my idle. This is a way around...

Re: PSoC based possibilities
I've just skimmed through the article and, I must say, it's very interesting and may end up being useful to this effort. I am a fan and proponent of idea to have a dedicated and isolated decoder/scheduler module for decoding the wheels and scheduling ign/inj events (even though Fred disagrees with m...

Re: PSoC based possibilities
Hi, very interesting discussion here I've been researching various types of ICs recently but never read anything about the PSoC. I appreciate you 'guys in-the-know' giving us a short breakdown on them, this really gives a quick picture for us - people who know nothing about this technology. Can anyo...
