When I was in the service, I remember watching a guy jump off of the Coronado bridge when passing under. I didn't think a body could bounce so high off of a nice solid concrete footing. usually with a simulator, you have free reign over the entire address space, therefore, in setup/teardown you can prepopulate register values and check them afterwords. good for fuzz testing too. I usually never go to this degree, only because of the time vs. reward. I use the s~*t out of asserts() ...

yes, the primary period of what you can observe easily in the time domain dominates, but there's is more to it than that.

is the ground shield terminated directly to the gnd plane ? if so, not a good idea and I'll leave the rest of the 'homework' up to you if you're really interested in why.

my only desire is something small so that I can fit it to my motorcycle(s). also, through hole part selection is about as poor as I've ever seen it before. keep doing what you're doing .. boo ... that thing is going to monster in size to support hybrid only from here on out. the design is only going to get bigger as more people add to it and need supporting on board hardware. +1 on smt (actually much easier), but if pth gets it into more hands I'm all for it too.
