I'm planning to take the server down for a few minutes to resize the disk partitions sometime pretty soon (before next sunday evening western eu time).
I'm also planning some software upgrades on the box, this could have down/broken time too as I sort out configuration post updates.
The forum also needs some love, though that can wait and is less important.
Fred.

Re: Planned Downtime
I've been performing the non-downtime work and am making good progress! I'll probably complete the disk re-size by end of tomorrow. Expect brief down times during the next 48 hours or so. Hopefully nothing more than brief!

Worst will be about 15 mins for the disk resize. The rest should be near instant like it was earlier. Notice that one? Didn't think so ;-)

Last time was 10 minutes, this time was 2 minutes, the service provider has upgraded their gear! :-)
The show is back on the road. I'll be taking down the forum for updates soon, but not for a few days, so I'll un-sticky this until then.

Re: Planned Downtime/paradas planificadas/плановых простоев
Sadly the apache upgrade didn't go as smoothly. They moved something to a variable, and I chose the wrong combo of keep/replace for the files, and they added a stack of new files, and as such, it failed to start during the update, and it took me a few minutes (upto 10?) to fix it. There was also a brief database offline period of about 1 or 2 minutes due to the way the uninstall process works for mysql packages. Anyway, that should be it for problems for a little while, fingers crossed.

Re: Planned Downtime/paradas planificadas/плановых простоев
Good work with the updates, Fred. I didn't notice a thing.
Re: Planned Downtime/paradas planificadas/плановых простоев
I did, and panicked briefly! This is the first time that **I've** caused a problem with the server that has unnecessarily affected users. I'll try not to let it happen again.
Thanks anyway, though :-)
