Hey guys...

I've been looking around the web, particularity looking at well known commercial EMS, and trying to find out exactly what features they have and how the software looks like. Basically I'm trying to find out the in-depth details of other ems'es, particularly useful functions that could be possibly incorporated.

I myself have only experience with MS2 and MS1 a bit.

Anyways, if anybody is interested, my findings:

Wolf EMS
there are some videos on wolf ECU website in the download section. They do through some ecu functions, so you can see the software and tuning interface and it's all explained... http://www.wolfems.com/downindex.html Aswell Wolf EMS software is working in 'offline' mode (does not need ecu connected) so you can see the software and play to some degree.

Autronic
Again, software works without ecu connected... It actually looks pretty primitive on the first look. I'm still looking for a good tuning manual.

Motec
Motec install/configuration/tuning manuals go through some default settings, like default warmup, at, IAT correction, etc tables....
unfortunately Motec software does not want to work without ECU connected :(

VEMS
VEMS has support wiki, which is good aparently.... I tried downloading it's software (customized megatune), but it appears to not be available at the moment  I'll have another go later.

Any other well known ECU's to check out ?
I know few more... there's 'EMS' 'AEM' 'HALLTRONICS' 'SDSEFI' 'ONTRONIC'
I'll check them out later and post my findings...

Tec3 and Emerald I have played with Emerald is a little limited in the way of customisable outputs though.
Tec3 is much more complex but you would expect so for the price.

Hey guys the haltech software is quite a good one to look at. It works offline and (obviously model depending) has all the features you could want from an ems. I've worked quite extensively on an E6X model on a close to standard toyota 4AGE 20v motor and the software is quite well laid out. I don't know if the manual is avaliable online but if not i could try digitize mine or just look up specific queries.

The Haltech manual is available in .pdf format (1,485 kb) as well as a wiring diagram in .pdf format (297 kb). The Haltech program is a 4 Mb download.

I found it quite easy to work with on a modified six and had the motor running in a short time.
