Life racing and AEM can be configured for VE.
I still say they all have there place. I know this much. Although i might not use one that is noy VE personally. If someone already has one and wants it tuned i don't care what it is. I go and tune. I love non VE systems for this as one small change in injector or fuel system. It is a total remap.... Cha ching....

I do not see any ability to change any series 1 or 2 or the ems4 to VE, the new infinity aem sure for VE
Re: Standalones That You Would Never Use
Any votes for emtech?
Re: Standalones That You Would Never Use
No personal experience, if you mean EMS stuff. I've watched and read some of their material and didn't spot anything horribly wrong. Personal experience trumps reading their docs, though. A lot of things can be wrong unseen on a website or brochure.

Re: Standalones That You Would Never Use
I'm sorry- it was late when I posted that. Was looking at pricing for a Link G4+ Atom and was offered this in SL version for a turbo 4 cylinder Toyota app. The fellow said he could sell me whatever I wanted but suggested raising my budget to $1900cdn.

Re: Standalones That You Would Never Use
Prices so far:
Atom from USA supplier $740USD shipped complete with 2.5m harness ($950DDN)
Atom from Canada supplier $1100CDN
Emtech SL4 from same Canadian suppier $1900, BUT he has a dyno for finish tune, may be able to supply base tune and may be able to take OEM harness and modify to suit. He spent 1hr on the phone going over Link/Vipec without a firm order, so that says to me his service should be good.

Re: Standalones That You Would Never Use
The AEM Series 1, Series 2 and the EMS4 can only map via fuel pulse width. You only get VE when you go with the newer Infinity ECUs.Hentai wrote:I do not see any ability to change any series 1 or 2 or the ems4 to VE, the new infinity aem sure for VEtpsretard wrote:Life racing and AEM can be configured for VE.
